Shopping Centre and Retail Parks

Definition:
Shopping Centre are providing retail for short-, medium, and long-term demand. They are characterised by:
  • spatial concentration of retail establishments with restaurants and services of different sizes
  • generous supply of parking space
  • central management or administration
  • joint public appearance of all tenants in certain situations (e.g. advertising, events, etc)
  • the total retail space is usually 10,000 sqm or more

Retail Parks are usually defined by:

  • usually locations at urban fringe or green field
  • good communications, easily accessible from within the wider catchment area
  • ground floor premises and mostly ground floor parking
  • unostentatious, functional interiors - few chrome and marble -and generally show lover levels for rent and extra costs.
